The future is bright

Every day our hearts long to be spreading the news of the gospel in the Finisterre Mountains. We have always planned on taking a short-term trip to visit Papua New Guinea before we moved there, but if timing never worked we were okay with skipping it. Between school and work for the both of us, we have set our sights on taking a trip next summer in 2020! Even though that is a year away, it is so much closer than our goal of moving there in 2022 or 2023!

When Brandon and I move to PNG, we plan on doing video updates and vlogs of some of our time overseas to update our supporters and to allow everyone to feel included in the process. The goal would be that our supporters are familiar with how things are going and would even be able to connect names with faces and share about our mission with others.

It amazes us daily how much God continues to bless us during this period of our lives. Sometimes it is discouraging to think about how long it will be until we get to truly begin the work God has placed on our hearts. In the meantime, Brandon has discovered he has an amazing gift of getting people to open up to him. At every job he has had, he tells me about the conversations he has with his coworkers about religion and theology. He has been able to talk to people who believe in nothing, who believe in the universe, who believe in God, and who don't know what they believe. Somehow he can casually get people to trust him and to open up about their true beliefs extremely easily! It blows my mind and I am grateful to be with someone who has such a talent for that because I do not possess the same skill.
